📢 Notice !!
This project is designed for an independent project in the course, Text Information Analytics, supervised by Professor H.J.Oh, Library and Information Science.

Project Outline

đźš© Project title: Analysis of the information behavior on social media about criminal cases

đźš© Purpose of the project:
When a violent crime is publicized in the media, it often leads to legislative changes. In particular, South Koreans have a slang term for “Pot Traits”, meaning that they are quick to heat up and cool down when events occur. Our team wanted to understand how much of the users’ behaviors led to a change in the law, and we wanted to analyze the impact of the media, including the press and social media.

đźš© Research Method:

  • For a total of 11 incidents, we crawled news and social media textual information about each incident.
(Including Twitter, YouTube comments, Naver blogs, and Korean community comments and article comments)
  • Natural Language Processing -> LDA Topic Modeling, Sentiment Analysis
  • Data analysis -> Principal component analysis (PCA)
