This project is designed for an independent project in the course, Understanding Data Driven Society, supervised by Professor J.W.Yoon, Library and Information Science.

In this project, We focused on the social use and the visualization of data. I was the team leader of this project, and our team members including me are from the student government. When I was a vice president in my department, I often heard complaints about the commute environment. Accordingly, Memories of that time led us to choose this topic !!

Project Outline

🚩 Project title : A User Study on City Bus Usage in the Commuting Environment by Students of Jeonbuk National University

🚩 Purpose of the project :
Raise the issue of commuting, which has become a major source of frustration among students, and seek solutions.

🚩 Project points ! :
- Designing survey about user satisfication and service usability.
- Data curation and Data visualization to show the result in an effective way.
- Deriving pratical improvments from pain points (Pragmatic intervention)

A User Study on the Commuting Environment

Our main message is “please increase the quality of life for commuters by improving their commuting experience.”

Background of Research

There were 3 Backgrounds that led us to this message.

satisfaction of Last Bus time depending on the region of residence
Satisfaction of services in bus

We surveyed students who commute to school using city buses over a six-day period from May 24 to 29, 2023.

As a result, 36 people responded to the survey, and 24 of whom were students who had used city buses for commuting.

This is the data sheet we collected from the survey responded by 24 students.
